Aev the Reader
Reading is still a relatively new passion of mine. I started getting back into reading late 2022-early 2023 and have been addicted ever since. I primarily read romance and fantasy.
A goal of mine is to expand the bookish community here on the small web and bring readers together. This has started with The Book Ring which has many community-focused expansions planned for 2024.

My Amazon Wishlist
This is by far the best book shopping resource I have found to date! It’s a reputable online discount bookstore where you can buy books for 50%-75%+ OFF the new retailing price! I’ve bought entire box sets and tons of popular books from this site for a fraction of the price, and the reason they go so cheap is because these books are often returns, special buys, or overstock they receive directly from the publishers.ย
The buttons below take you to my referral links for the USA and Canada, which gives you $5 OFF your first order from their site. ๐ฅณ And just a quick disclaimer, I will never recommend websites/products/services that I do not personally use and love on my website. If I share it, I’ve already been using it, I love it, and genuinely recommend it. โฅ
Community Involvement.
As I’ve been growing more into this hobby as well as the small web, I really wanted to create a space where readers could easily find and befriend others who love books and reading. So I’ve created a webring and directory called The Book Ring!
The Book Ring isn’t exclusive to just the small web, but I am hoping it will become an avenue for others to discover the small web. Authors as well as book bloggers are also welcome to join. โฅ So long as you have your own website/blog with book-related content and can share our webring code, you are welcome!
As of 2024, The Book Ring has made some expansion efforts. It is primarily settled in my library subdomain, though, you can still access is through Neocities as well. I have implemented more social features and intend to keep expanding this community, so be sure to check it out and join if it’s something you’re interested in!

Not In Love by Ali Hazelwood | Book Review I enjoyed this book by #AliHazelwood, though, out of her other books I've read so far, this one isn't my favorite. It lacks the comedy I've grown to love her for, which I think is why it wasn't a 4 or 5 star read for me. Nevertheless, it was nice watching Rue grow to accept love and love in return. โฅRead my full review here:https://cottage.thecozy.cat/blog/not-in-love-by-ali-hazelwood-book-review/@bookstondon#bookstodon #booktok #bookstagram […]

Saw #ItEndsWithUs today in theatres! I read the book and LOVED it, but felt disappointed with the movie. ๐ I know there's only so much they can fit within a couple hours but it felt rushed and lacked a lot of the emotional depth between Lily and Atlas that was present in the book. Still a great movie though. I think they did a great job touching on the topic of domestic abuse without making it really graphic. Good movie, but the book was better. ๐ #ColleenHoover#books @bookstodon […]
The reason I bring this up is because I keep seeing posts on my social feeds of people pointing out New Adult smutty romance novels mixed in with the YA section and being pissed about it, and I mean, rightfully so. You don't want kids reading adult material, for one, but at the same time it's like... are people honestly surprised there's confusion around the YA/NA labels? Let's be real lol.
My hot take on one of my biggest #bookish pet peeves - YA should be labeled 'Teen', not 'Young Adult'. It's extremely confusing, it's the reason why YA ends up mixed in with NA smut in stores, by definition it's unclear; Young adult means late teens to early-mid 20s, and by that definition non-readers assume 'young ADULT' means someone of age. There really needs to be a clear differentiation between NA and YA.#books #rant #bookstodon #maythe4th #booktok #bookstagram @bookstodon

Hold On Tight by Abbi Glines | Book Review I definitely read the entire thing in a southern accent! Something I really enjoy is seeing authors compare different types of love in their books; love that isn't really sincere or healthy vs. love that's more genuine and true, and this book does that. Though, I will say this book won't be everyone's cup of tea...Full Review Here:https://cottage.thecozy.cat/blog/hold-on-tight-by-abbi-glines-book-review/@bookstodon #bookstodon #booktok #bookstagram […]

I can't give this book enough stars. It was so well written, very emotional, and being able to see from different perspectives and compare an abusive relationship from a healthy one, it holds very powerful messages when it comes to the different types of relationships, and the dark reality of what unhealed trauma does to people.Full Review:https://cottage.thecozy.cat/blog/it-ends-with-us-by-colleen-hoover-book-review/#BookReview #bookstagram #bookstodon #booktok #Coho #ColleenHoover #Fiction […]

The Cozy Cat liked sil โก the book voyagers's review of Don't Call Me Daddy (Ashford Falls #1): "เนเฃญ โญ๐ฆเนเฃญ โญ A small-town romance ft. a girl who is just passing through and a billionaire grumpy guy who needs a fake fiancรฉ to help him with his family! You know, I did like this romance. It was fun and entertaining. There were times where I went through the pages so fast, but I did go through moments where it felt eternal. I feel like that might be because sometimes the writing was confusing. Sadly, I felt like the overall setting of scenes was off somehow? When I was reading some scenes, sometimes it skipped through some descriptions like maybe Leo needed to take off his clothes, Ivy needed to set the scene with descriptions of where she was at, etc., you know? There's this scene where he draws a bath for Ivy and she makes space for him to fit in and the next moment, he's inside. That leads me to believe he went in with his clothes on... but no, somehow he took his clothes off even though there's nothing on the page that led me to think that. So there are moments where descriptions of actions were skipped and that made me SO CONFUSED. My face was literally "????" lolI liked the story about a lonely girl who happens to pass through this small creepy town and stays there for a month to earn some money as some guy's pretend fiancรฉ. That sounds super fun and it was! Her twin sister died five years ago and so she's trying to complete this checklist they made when she was still alive. At the end of the month, she has a ticket to go to Romania for work and so it's inevitable that she has to live. This complicates the romance, of course, because Ivy and Leo manage to fall in love and the clock is ticking! If you're in mood for an age gap, pretend engagement, grumpy x sunshine romance, read this. It also features Daddy/brat dynamic so if you love to read that kink, definitely check it out. It's fun to see their dynamic and relationship develop. How Leo gets so annoyed but secretly loves that Ivy is like that. How Ivy adores messing with Leo and doing all the things she knows will annoy him. It's not the best romance book I've ever read, that's for sure. If you want to have a fun time reading a romance book with wild situations, spicy scenes, and swoony moments, this book can work for you!"
